Grading Information

Australia is one of the world’s leading producers of wagyu beef and uses the AUS-MEAT marbling system to grade quality. This scale ranges from 0 (no marbling) to 9+ (extraordinary marbling), with 9+ being the highest category.

The Australian grading scores align directly with the Japanese BMS scale — for example, an Australian wagyu BMS 5 is equivalent to a Japanese BMS 5. The only difference is that while Japan grades up to BMS 12, Australia groups everything above 9 into the 9+ category.

Renowned for its quality, 2GR Fullblood Wagyu consistently reaches the highest level of this scale, achieving 9+ marbling scores.
